It’s time for Santa to come to Vancouver and Hyack Festival Association will be there, in cooperation with the City of New Westminster, to greet him and all the children lining the parade route at the 10th annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade. Hyack was pleased the City welcomed the organization’s request to participate with the float in this iconic winter celebration of the holiday season.
With the cooperation of the City of New Westminster it was agreed that the Hyack float entitled ‘Celebrate Our History’ would make its traditional appearance in the Rogers parade which attracts up to 300,000 people. “Hyack has been a presence in this parade for many years and we thank the City for working with us to continue this seasonal tradition. Hyack takes seriously our responsibility of introducing the city of New Westminster to the people in surrounding communities and regions. We are proud of our city. It is an honour for the board and past presidents to walk beside this beautiful float focusing the attention of hundreds of thousands of people on New Westminster.” conveys Palmer.
We invite all New Westminster children, and their parents, to join us Sunday, December 1st, 2013 at 1:00PM as we march in the parade that ushers Santa back to Greater Vancouver. The 10th annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade starts at Georgia and Broughton, travels east on Georgia to Howe, turns south on Howe, and finishes at Howe and Davie.
“I know of no other marketing effort at this time of year which puts the city of New Westminster before such a massive audience. To see the smiles on the children’s faces as they anticipate the arrival of Santa makes this effort by many New Westminster volunteers extremely worthwhile.” reveals Palmer.
