Miss New Westminster 2014                                                                                                    43rd Annual Hyack Ambassador Pageant

An incredible journey of learning that led to close friendships, lessons of a lifetime and an extraordinary night at the pageant. I have heard from many spectators that it was one of the best pageants ever.

The May Queen Suite came to the pageant to wish the candidates well and to congratulate the winner.

The Columbia Theatre was filled with family, friends and supporters  for this memorable evening.

The judges had a difficult decision.  Miss New Westminster 2013, Amanda Zacharuk, crowned Claire Dresselhuis as Miss New Westminster 2014 last Thursday evening, at the Columbia Theatre.  Andie Lloyd as the Hyack Princess 2014.  Anna Almonte as the chosen Miss Friendship 2014, Jenni Slinn received the Bernie Legge Memorial Award, Talia De Capite and Ceylin Ozdemir to complete the 2014 Ambassadors.

The Ambassadors 2014 from our neighbouring city of White Rock also came to offer congratulations to all the candidates and to Hyack for their successful and professional pageant.

All of the Ambassadors should be extremely proud of themselves and for all of their hard work! They are an incredible group of young ladies who will do a spectacular job of representing  The Hyack Festival Association and our Royal City in the lower mainland and throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The 65 red roses tribute to Eva Markvoort and fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis made the evening even more special.

To the volunteers who made this event possible this year and for the past 42 years kudos to you! Traditions like this are what make New Westminster so special and unique.

I am honoured to have taken part in this extraordinary program put on by the Hyack Association!
