For the membership of the Hyack Festival Association (HFA), the New Year started off in the right direction and a positive outlook. On January 13th, HFA held their AGM at the Inn at the Quay. Starting at 5:30pm with registration and continuing until 7:00pm when a formal dinner was served, the AGM provided the capacity crowd with a look into the future and a glimpse back at the past.
Departing his position as President, Peter Goodwin presented a look back at 2013 and what could be best be described as a year of rebuilding. Peter then turned the address over to the 44th President Don Swindells whose address provided the capacity audience with promise and insight into what will be a year of renewal and achievement.
Don gave an overview of the exciting new events that will take place in 2015 and thanked everyone in the room for their passion and for their continued support of the Hyack Festival Association.
Don is no stranger to New Westminster and the Hyack Festival Association, Don was President in 2006 and is familiar with the responsibilities of being President,
Of course a significant part of the AGM was the announcement of the new Executive and Board of Directors for 2015. The new board and executive were sworn in by SUPREME COURT JUDGE CRAWFORD. The 2015 board consists of:
